Art Among the Ruins was created by a family of artists who desired an event to bring residents together and create community connectiveness. The owners who currently live on the historical site of Art Among the Ruins, and their daughter, a resident of the village, felt that by offering the event, people, who have natural curiousity about the site, could take a leisurely day to explore both the picturesque setting and the bountiful art culture that this area has to offer.
Currently in its twelfth year, this dynamic community art show and sale has grown to displaying the work of over 65 diverse artists, complete with live music, live educational art demonstrations and barbeque'd lunch fare that supports the community programs. Loads of volunteers offer their time and creativity to making the event truly special and it has become a feature that is most anticipated each year.
This show, true to its intent, has developed an impeccable reputation for high-quality, diverse art; organized, friendly and helpful volunteers; wonderful and engaging conversations; and a peaceful and unique setting. This show brings visitors who come from far and wide, and return year after year, saying they would not miss it for the world.
There are lots of chairs set up around the property, so come for art or come for a relaxing day to just sit overlooking the river to watch the water flow by. Either way, it is with delight that we would welcome your company.
